Hello,

I'm Isabella. I'm a playwright from Auckland, New Zealand.

 

Last year, my show Big Time debuted at Q Theatre in October 2025. The sold-out season was hailed as "zingy...clever...and immensely watchable" (Theatreview).​

In 2023, my play, Champions, debuted in a sold-out, extended season on the Main Stage at Basement Theatre. It had its international premiere at the Old Fitz Theatre in Sydney the following year.​

​

Together with director Harriett Maire, I co-lead extracurricular, creating theatre and film. We explore the complex intricacies of the human experience through storytelling that is sharp, punchy, and full of heart. Our work is grounded in a compassionate, holistic approach, something we take pride in, both on and off the stage and screen.

 

My work has been described as “crack-up, lyrical, and poignant” (Bad Apple) and “terrifyingly real” (Rat World Magazine).​

I was recently awarded development funding from Creative New Zealand's Early Career Fund - Toi Tipu Toi Rea to create a new theatre project - more coming soon!
